ballo a corte

Embark on a journey into the regal past as the traditional “BALLO A CORTE” kicks off today at the Royal Palace of Naples, running until mid-March on weekdays, excluding Wednesdays.

This captivating spectacle, conceived and executed by Le Nuvole in collaboration with Casa del Contemporaneo and the Royal Palace management, promises a special program tailored for families and children (starting from 3 years old) during the Carnival festivities on Saturday, February 10, Monday, February 12, Tuesday, February 13 at 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM, and Sunday, February 11 at 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 5:00 PM.

The BALLO A CORTE invites visitors to explore the Etiquette Apartment under the guidance of art historians, with special attention to capturing the attention of the younger audience towards the beauty and historical significance of the site. Along the journey, they will encounter King Ferdinand of Bourbon, indulging in his customary babà, and ready to escape for an enticing hunting expedition in the woods.

Participants will then continue their stroll through the ceremonial halls, encountering Queen Maria Carolina, still busy with her toiletry. In the frescoed and lavishly furnished halls, both children and their families, as well as participating adults, will have the opportunity to witness a true etiquette lesson – from bows to curtsies – to be well-prepared for the grand ball in the Hall of Hercules.

For the audience, especially the little ones, the chance to participate in costume adds an extra layer of excitement. The cost for children is €9, while for adults, in addition to the €9 activity fee, there is an entrance fee to the Royal Palace. Reservations can be made at arte@lenuvole.com, and pre-purchase is available on vivaticket.com. Don’t miss this enchanting immersion into the splendor of courtly life!
